Tanya Burr Cosmetics - 12 Sweet Days Beauty Calendar

Welcome back after a long hiatus (again-soz!)  Anyways, all snoozes aside, lets get down to business.

Whilst wandering around the shops before Christmas I decided to check out what Superdrug had to offer and Im glad I did.  They had a big gifting section from this line and from other popular bloggers for Christmas.  You may think I am getting a bit over excited but let's be clear.  This is only the second Superdrug shop that I know of in Dublin and the only one accessible to where I live, so MAJOR excitement.

As I had a look along the shelves, there was only one item that I could possibly walk out of the shop with when I spotted it...The Tanya Burr 12 Sweet Days Beauty  Calendar.  My heart stopped a beat when I noticed it and I couldn't wait to get it home and discover the hidden treasures inside.  My office Christmas party was coming up in the next few days and I knew there would be at least one item I would love to use in there for that.

It was well into the first 12 days of December so I decided to cheat a bit and open up all the doors.  Sorry not Sorry!  Now where to start...

 2 Glitter Liners

These beautiful glitter liners in gold and silver.  So gorgeous, especially over a dark wing liner.  Just fab.  No stickiness, very easy and smooth to apply.  I have also used them on top of a normal shadow too, by placing them on the back of my hand and patting them on my lid.

Not a great photo to show their beauty but we make do.

2 Glitter Pots

One darker shade (midnight magic) blackish, grey sparkle and then an alternative lighter one (let it snow) white with silver sparkle.
I have used these over crayon shadows and powder shadows and they give off such shine.  I kind of lean towards the lighter tone myself but thats just personal preference.  I wore it on top of a golden powder shadow from Charlotte Tilbury and it will definately be used again like this.  It just brings out the underlying brightness of a shshad, with very little effort.  I have also tried and enjoyed wearing, this colour when used with a dampened brush.  That really set the colour.  There was little to no falldown on both uses and that is always a bonus in my books.

Tiny mirror and nail file included in this calendar which are now part of my everyday makeup bag.  There is nothing worse than when you are out and about realising you have need of either.  Now I can tick these nuisances off the list with no effort required.

Glitter Lips

Oh my, its time to take it up a notch.  There are 3 Lip Glosses in this set.  All of these glosses are light, creamy and non drying.  They also smell divine.  There is a vanilla essence smell from them, that I just find delicious.

Ice Queen - A clear gloss which you can pop on bare lips or on top of your favourite matt lipstick.
Pink Fondant - a pinkey nude gloss.  This I have worn on its own with a darkere smokey eye or with a daytime fresh, makeup look.  Versatility is one of my favourite things about this calendar.
Cranberry Melt a beautiful glossy Christmas red.  I actually wore this out with or without lipstick underneath over the holidays.  It really sets a festive makeup off.

Shiny Nails

Finally we come to the sparkly sensation of the 3 nail polishes in this collection.
They really last well for glitter nail polishes and give off a tremendous glitz for little effort.  They are smooth and easy to apply.  Even though they are sold in this Christmas goodie box, I will be wearing them all through the year.

Glitter Rain - A clear polish with a crazy amount of silver glitter in it.  This is beautiful over a clear varnish or on top of any festive colours.

Glitter Frosting  This is a bronze beauty.  Gorgeous, I would wear this on its own but it could be added over another or in conjunction with another colour.

Festive Red - This is my perfect red.  I squealed when I opened the door to this.  This was my party red with glitter rain on top.  I love when you wear out a nail colour and then be slightly distracted by it throughout the night.  Just me??

That brings us to the end of this festive additiomoneyf you can still get your hands on this special calendar, you should.  I will definately be the first in the queue for next years calendar.  Great value for money and an absolute beauty. Bling, bling.

HAIR-TASTIC COLAB REVIEW

So there I was in the queue in Penneys, chatting to my sis when I caught a glimpse of this goodie at the counter and squealed.  Of course, my sister was looking at me like I was crazy, as well as half the people around me!  The reason for my moment of madness was of course Ruth Crillys COLAB dry shampoo products.  I searched high and low in London last year for this but not a sign of it was to be found to my dismay.  Let's just say it was emotional.

Who is it by?
Ruth Crilly is the main instigator here (check out her picture to the left).  She is a model, blogger and a very entertaining woman with the cutest pets to die for! (honestly, check out her vlogs - amodelrecommends).  She co-created this product to help the world of women out there to sort out our crazy hair days, especially when you haven't the time or energy to wash, dry and style at the last minute.

So, what is it?
Its a dry shampoo, like it says on the tin, only better!  There hasn't been that much hype here in Ireland regarding this product that I've come across but blogs and vloggers have been blowing up about it. There are five different scents in the range - London, Paris, NYC, Tokyo and Rio.  I have only come across the London and Tokyo versions yet. They come in 50ml travel size and 200ml for home.

Which one did I buy?
I bought the London version.  It has a clean, fresh scent, if that makes sense? I can't abide any products that interfere with your perfume, overpowering.  I got the handbag size and the larger spray (I couldn't resist).  The larger size was €3.95.  If you are like me and need to buy a "trial size", then check out the smaller version but I guarantee you will be heading back for more.

How To Use & Performance
Spray, massage through your hair and brush.  Ta da!  Magic, fresher hair. Quick, easy and does exactly what you want without a hefty price tag.
I have used the "other" popular dry shampoos but since I put a colour in my hair it becomes a sticky mess, with areas hanging onto the white powder.  Not cool, unless its Halloween and you are going for the Adams Family or Old Skool Frankensteins Bride look!

Final Words
I loved it.  Ticked all the boxes for me.  Clean, fresh smelling hair with non of the white residue left behind.  You will be swinging your hair back and forth in joy!

So peeps, that's the review.  Don't just take my word for it though, try it out yourselves. Be warned, these bottles are flying off the shelves so best to grab some soon!!!!

Until next time....

Welcome....

Hi There.

For a while now (a few years) I've been keeping a blog.  This means, on and off again I have been writing about situations or ideas that have come about in my life.

Also, over the last few years I have become more and more interested in beauty and makeup.  I really enjoy in my free time watching or reading other vloggers/bloggers new purchases or picking up tips and tricks from this medium of the beauty world.

I tend to be asked by friends and family what products I am using or have found because they know I have an interest in this area.  Therefore, I thought that instead I would keep a beauty diary of products, maybe an empties haul and whatever else may come along as I wander down this path.

So without further ado, welcome to "once upon a palette".  May you find a product or two that you wish for!
